EMC Live Fall 2024

Now Available On Demand

The EMC Live Fall Experience

The team at Interference Technology is hard at work as we put together our next EMC Live event, coming November 14. Developed by and for design engineers in the EMC space, EMC Live brings together a lineup of expert speakers to cover challenges and innovations across a range of key applications, including mil/aero, testing, wireless and 5G, fundamentals, and automotive.

Learn the latest directly from industry thought leaders, as you network with hundreds of EMC peers, take in technical presentations and product demonstrations, and interact with expert speakers in real time. Don’t worry if you can’t attend the live sessions – all presentations will be recorded and available on demand.

Agenda

Webinar | EMC Fundamentals: Essential EMI Shielding Solutions for Product Designers and Engineers | Parker Chomerics

Ben Nudelman, Global Market Manager & Commercial Electronics, Parker Chomerics & Sierra Meloan, Territory Sales Manager, Parker Chomerics

Parker Chomerics has more than 60 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing materials that support Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Our products have supported applications in the Telecommunications, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Industrial, Consumer Electronics, Energy Storage and Life Science markets. If you are a product designer or engineer who wants to know about the many solutions for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding or simply wanted a refresher on the basics of EMC, this webinar is for you. You will learn the theory behind EMC, the products available to meet EMC regulations, the basics of testing for EMI/RF compliance, and hear about real-world application examples.

Webinar | Testing, Testing….1….2….3 | Schaffner

Gomar Charlton, EMC Engineer, Schaffner

This presentation will provide an overview of commonly used EMC standards. Delve into the test setups, methodologies and nuances of various emissions standards including a review of CISPR 9kHz updates. Learn about common sources of noise and mitigation strategies including how a filter can aid in meeting your customer’s needs.

Demo | Hands-On Demonstration and Fundamentals of Using High Powered CW & Pulsed Amplifiers for EMC Testing | ATEC

Gabe Alcala, Business Development Manager, Advanced Test Equipment Corp (ATEC) & Michael Yantz, Vice President of Business Development, Exodus Advanced Communications

Amplifiers play a pivotal role in EMC testing, particularly in radiated immunity tests, where they are used to generate the high field strengths required to evaluate a device’s resilience to electromagnetic interference. This demonstration while be a hands-on overview of the fundamental principles of using both CW and Pulsed amplifiers for EMC purposes. Key topics that will be covered are RF connections, best practices, system monitoring, VSWR, modulations, remote control, selection of correct amplifier, and field strength calculations.

Demo | Choosing an EMI Gasket When EMI Failure is Not an Option | Spira

Kevin Hernandez, General Manager, Spira

Our specialty is partnering with engineers to solve their EMI shielding challenges. Join us for this interactive webinar to see some of our most popular EMI gaskets and how they help solve EMI problems. Engineered for simplicity, built to endure – our EMI gaskets ensure a seamless installation process and unmatched longevity, delivering the quality you trust for the life of your system. We will review considerations that need to be taken when selecting and implementing our Spira EMI gaskets, as well as diving into the shielding quality of our gaskets. Join us for insight into custom solutions for your next project and a special demonstration of our spiral put to the test in our new Force-Flex Analyzer.

Webinar | How Layout Affects EMC Performance – It’s Not Black Magic! | RECOM

Steve Roberts, Innovation Manager, RECOM Power

The rules for a good PCB layout for an EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) are often poorly understood, even though the basics can be reduced to only three very simple factors.

Part of the reason for this confusion is that apparently trivial changes to a PCB layout, such as rotating a component by 180°C, can result in an EMC pass or fail.

This webinar uses the example of a simple buck converter, one of the most basic power supply topologies, to explore how layout affects EMC performance and what to do if your design does not pass.

Demo | NEW Inserts Can Add EMI Mitigation up to 100GHz or Transient Protection Inside Your Connector in Seconds | Quell

Scott Lindberg, President, Quell Corporation

Quell’s NEW EESeal-Hybrid and EESeal+™ Inserts for connectors add EMI/RFI and Transient protection to your standard connectors in seconds. Our patented inserts use highly conductive silicone rubber to make a rugged and reliable connector form pin to pin or pin to shell. Low inductance along with discrete capacitors and/or integral capacitors allow for EMI noise mitigation up to 100GHz+. Typical applications are Military/Defense, Aerospace and more. “Free” custom samples can be designed and ship in as little as 48 hours!
