Q: What is the role of the magnetic field? What causes it?
A: The rod antenna referred to in the presentation cannot ‘see’ the magnetic field associated with the radiated electromagnetic field. However, no magnetic field, no propagating electromagnetic field. The electric field and the magnetic field co-exist, the changing electric field creating a changing magnetic field, and simultaneously, the changing magnetic field creating the electric field.
Q: How would you apply that coupling when designing a filter with coils, which are close together, so that the field coupling changes the filter attenuation, calculated with the parasitics of the components (by spice-simulation) alone?
A: I am not sure PSPICE is the best simulation package in this instance. An EM simulator might be a better way.
