Below are the questions asked during the live event, along with their respective answers.
Q: Can you set up the ESW for “Bands”, such as Band 1 150 kHz to 30 MHz, etc. This is rather than manually entering start/stop frequencies in the setup window.
A: The GUI is designed to allow the frequency ranges to mimic custom bands of operation. The start/stop frequency of the scan can encompass many frequency bands within the test automation GUI.
Q: What is the measurement bandwidth of the receiver used in the demo?
A: The measurement BW is defined by the standard. If the question is referring to the FFT analysis BW, then this BW varies across the spectrum and is optimized for the receiver architecture.
Q: Is the FFT measurement bandwidth upgrade-able? Meaning if it’s 40 or 80MHz when I purchase the machine, can it be bumped up to 160MHz or higher using a firmware update?
A: The ESW was recently upgraded via FW to double the FFT analysis BW when only measuring with a peak detector. This was possible because the dynamic range requirements for a peak detector are less than the QP detector.
However, it will be very unlikely that FW will increase the real-time BW.
